Amex Blue Cash Preferred Benefit Guide

American Express’s Blue Cash Preferred® card is one of the top cashback cards in the market today, and it’s easy to see why. Cardholders spent up to $6,000 in US supermarkets each year (after 1%), and earned 6% in select US streaming services. They also earn 3% at gas stations in the US and get 1% back on everything else they buy.

In addition to this exceptional reward rate, the card offers surprisingly many perks at low cost, including shopping benefits and protection from card purchases. Below are the best benefits you will receive as a cardholder and some tips for maximizing your Amex Blue Cash Preferred Rewards.

Amex Blue Cash prioritizes the benefits of food and entertainment

Blue Cash Preferred doesn’t weigh too much on the benefits of food and entertainment, but cardholders have exclusive access to ticket pre-sale and cardholder-only events through Amex Experience. This makes it easy to reach the doors of Broadway shows, concerts, sporting events and other popular activities.

Amex Blue Cash Preferred Travel Protection and Benefit

Global Assist® Hotline

Being a card member gives you access to the international hotline 24/7 whenever you travel at least 100 miles from your home. Line experts can help you align emergency, legal or medical referrals, exchange lost passports, find your belongings, and more.

Rental car loss and property insurance

Priority Blue Cash also offers car rental loss and property insurance. This type of compensation does not include liability. To enable this secondary protection, you will need to pay the entire rental fee with your American Express card.

Amex Blue Cash Priority Card Protection and Insurance Benefits

Blue Cash Preferred also offers benefits and protection that can help you save money and exchange lost or stolen items. These include:

Purchase Protection

This profit protects your purchase from purchases or theft when you pay for the eligible items with your card. Coverage is good for $1,000 per incursion for up to 90 days, but total benefits are $50,000 per calendar year.

Returns protection

Blue Cash Preferred also comes with a guaranteed return feature that will refund your purchase when the merchant does not retrieve it. This coverage is suitable for the full purchase price excluding shipping and handling, with a maximum profit of $300 per item. There is also a maximum limit of $1,000 per year for each account. Only purchases made within the US or US territory are eligible.

Dispute resolution

If you find an unauthorized transaction or incorrect charges on your card, American Express has a back. Just challenge the card billing and American Express will try to resolve the issue for you. However, please note that not all disputes will favor you.

Additional Amex Blue Cash Likes Benefits

The ultimate advantage to understanding is the Introduction to Annual Rate (APR) offer for this card. Once approved, you get an introductory 0% APR for 12 months of purchase and balance transfer followed by a varied APR of 18.74% to 29.74%. This temporary interest claim exemption makes it easier for cardholders to make large purchases and repay them over time.

How to Maximize the Benefits and Benefits Amex Blue Cash offers

Blue Cash Preferred has an introductory book with a $0 annual fee, followed by $95 a year. You will also earn cashback rewards during this period. This is worth hundreds of dollars over a year.

Still, there are other ways to make the most of your new card.

Get a welcome bonus

As a cardholder, you will have the opportunity to earn a $250 statement credit after spending $3,000 on a new card within the first six months. This is $500 per month for the sixth consecutive month. Many cardholders spend regardless.

Maximum bonus category spending

Maximize your bonus category spending, especially grocery spending. You can make money by spending $6,000 in a supermarket that costs $6,000 each year (1% at the time). If you can spend $500 a month at a US supermarket with this card, you can earn $360 per year in this category alone. Also make sure you use your card for gas stations and transit purchases (3% back) and set it as a payment type for all streaming accounts (6% back) such as Netflix and Hulu.

Take advantage of Amex offers

Check your account or the American Express app frequently. AMEX offers help you earn cashback on eligible purchases. Amex offers can be added to your account for free, and you can earn more rewards on top of the cashback you earn to pay with your card.

Save receipt

AMEX purchase protection and return protection is a cardholder perk, and we recommend that you store receipts for major purchases. This makes it easy to submit a claim if the purchased item is damaged or stolen, or if you want to return the purchased item and the store where you purchased it.

Conclusion

There are many major reasons why you can prioritize applying for Blue Cash. Not only will you get the opportunity to win generous welcome offers and continuous rewards, but you will also enjoy solid travel and protection for your purchase. Plus, Blue Cash Preferred is a solid cashback credit card without these perks.

That being said, compare this card with other Amex cards (for example, American Express’s No-Annual-Fee BlueCash® cards) and other issuers’ top reward credit cards.
